Breitling Top Time Classic Cars Capsule Collection

Inspired by the iconic American sports car of the 1960s, Breitling introduced three chronographs to improve engine performance.

With the Geneva watch day in full swing, Breitling introduced a series of chronographs inspired by three iconic American sports cars of the 1960s: Chevrolet Corvette, Ford Mustang and Shelby Cobra. The dial and back cover of each chronograph adopt bold colors and a unique retro atmosphere, featuring the logo of each sports car. Although the capsule series is not limited, it is only produced for one year.

Top time Chevrolet Corvette
The Top Time Chevrolet Corvette uses a racing red dial and a black sub-dial, based on the Corvette C2 in the mid-1960s. From 1963 to 1967, the second-generation Chevrolet Corvette (aka “Sting Ray”) was designed by Larry Shinoda. The size of the Chevrolet Corvette watch is 42 mm, the height is 13.65 mm, with piston buttons and 100 meters water resistance.

A black tachymeter scale with orange and yellow markings from 400 to 1000 outlines a bright red dial with three slightly recessed black sub-dials: a 15-minute counter at 9 o’clock and a 6-hour counter at 6 o’clock 3 o’clock on the disc and the small seconds disc. The hour and minute hands and the hour markers are all treated with Super-LumiNova luminous treatment, and the car logo is depicted below the white Breitling inscription at noon.

Best time Ford Mustang
The first generation of Ford Mustang was produced from 1964 to 1969. It was a compact and affordable sports car that was popular with rock stars and actors and appeared in countless movies. Sharing the same technical specifications as the Corvette, the Ford Mustang has a green dial and a black speedometer with orange and yellow markings ranging from 400 to 1000. The iconic Mustang horse appeared at noon.

The 42mm Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Mustang models are equipped with a Breitling 25 movement, and the ETA 2892 is equipped with a Dubois-Depraz timing module. This 1/8 second timer has a 42-hour power reserve and is COSC certified.

Best time Shelby Cobra
Top Time Shelby Cobra is 40 mm long and 13.30 mm high, which is the smallest of the three products. The Shelby Cobra, designed by Le Mans champion Carol Shelby in the early 1960s, combines British chassis design with American large-cylinder engines. Shelby Cobra has a bright blue dial and a white tachymeter scale with red and blue markings ranging from 200 to 800. There are two white sub-dials at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock (dual composite layout) at 6 o’clock. There is a cobra logo.

The central chronograph second hand is red, and the hour and minute hands are treated with Super-LumiNova. Like Corvette and Mustang, Shelby Cobra is equipped with a COSC-certified Breitling 41 movement (also based on ETA’s Dubois-Depraz timing module), which is an automatic 1/4 second chronograph with a power reserve of 42 hours.

All three models are equipped with a racing-themed calfskin strap and folding clasp.
