Jaquet Droz bird watch

Jaquet-Droz opened his first workshop in 1738, and within a few decades had become known internationally as a master of elaborate pocket watches, mechanical singing birds, and automata. In 1759, Droz presented a mechanical clock to King Ferdinand VI of Spain, featuring a shepherd playing the flute and a dog guarding a basket of apples.

The Bird Repeater is an authentic automaton, with a cam system inherited directly from the century of Enlightenment, and it calls upon the resources of all the decorative crafts.

The Jaquet Droz Charming Bird watch is a very unusual, modern version of a singing bird automaton. The Charming Bird watch came out in 2013, and this is a newer version with the addition of an replica watch

The Replica Jaquet Droz Bird Repeater is a proper collection in the collection for Jaquet Droz, as several very limited edition of this watch already exist, as for example the very first run of 8 watches presented in 2012 or the skeletonized edition introduced in 2014. The Jaquet Droz Bird Repeater represents horology at replica watch

Easily the most beautiful aspect of the Jaquet Droz Bird Repeater watch is the dial. It is totally done by hand and is incredibly well-detailed. The base dial is mother of pearl, which is hand-engraved and painted. Standard, as well as black mother-of-pearl pieces, are used to create the forest and river scene. Note the waterfall, done on a replica watch
